NCOS Opera Zoom Presentations
Following the success of our High C presentation on Zoom,
we would like to offer you some more opera on Zoom on a
regular basis while we are unable to meet in person.
Our plan is to hold an NCOS Opera Zoom event once a month
(on the third Sunday of the month with a holiday in August).
We invite members to make suggestions of themes or
to offer to present something.
Academic knowledge is not a requirement, just enthusiasm
and a desire to share something special with others—a
favourite composer or artist, a style of opera,
a recurring theme—the possibilities are endless.
Sun Dec 5, 2021, 2 p.m.
Maria Callas Remembered
Murray Kitts will give our first NCOS Zoom Opera Presentation,
complete with video excerpts of her performances.
Please reply to Lesley by email at
NCOSZoom@NCOS.ca.
Before the event, you will be emailed a link
that will enable you to join the meeting.
If you need technical help working with Zoom,
please contact us ahead of the event.

The Met: Live in HD
The current season of live broadcasts in High Definition
from the Metropolitan Opera has ended.

of next season’s broadcasts.

this season (dates, start times, cast, etc.)
Live Streaming from the Bavarian State Opera in Munich
Starting with the 2012/13 season,
the Bavarian State Opera in Munich became the first
international opera house to present, with STAATSOPER.TV,
a season with live streams online free of charge.
Opera and ballet lovers from all over the world can now
enjoy opera performances and ballet evenings in full
and live online.
The time difference between Munich and Ottawa
(or anywhere else on Eastern Time) is 6 hours.
That must be subtracted from the start time in Munich.
Example: If the start time of the opera is 8 p.m.
in Munich, then it is 2 p.m. in Ottawa
(8 p.m. - 6 hours = 2 p.m.).
