The National Capital Opera Competition (formerly the Brian Law Opera Competition) is organized by the National Capital Opera Society every two years to encourage young Canadian singers who are focusing on a performing career.

$21,000 will be awarded in prize money to the finalists in 2023.

Notices are sent out to music education organizations across Canada. From all valid applications received, a preliminary jury chooses up to six finalists. At the public competition, each finalist performs three opera arias in the original language with piano accompaniment, before a three-member jury.
